Work at Codem
We are a small web studio based in Surry Hills a short walk from Central Station. Due to a recent increase in development projects we require a junior developer/freelancer to fulfill an onsite contract position. We share our space with other creative types so it's a fun and interesting place to work.
The initial contract period is one month with a continuation based on suitability and project availability. We need someone willing to get their hands dirty in some interesting and varied client projects.
The successful candidate will:
have an understanding of object oriented programming in PHP 5
be able to understand and use version control systems
have an understanding of Javascript development, including jQuery
demonstrated CSS proficiency to turn designer layouts into pixel perfect HTML templates
have good communication skills
have an understanding of cross browser development including appropriate words to shout at IE
have an understanding or experience in development on a Linux platform
be able to work within a small team of developers and designers
have an ABN or be able to get one in the near future
be able to meet project deadlines
have at least 1 year's demonstrated experience in web development.
The following skills are valuable to us but are not required as training & assistance will be provided if needed:
you are developing on a Linux or Mac desktop
have an understanding of version control systems such as Git and Bzr
an understanding of Silverstripe and its underlying MVC framework
previous experience with CodeIgniter
experience with basic Wordpress development
